A very interested group participated in the Annual General Assembly April 7th 2010. The year's activities , a financial
report, upcomingevents, by-laws, elections, art and lunch were all part of a lively evening.
Un groupe intéressé a participé à l'Assemblée annuelle le 7 avril. On y trouvent les activités de l'année, un rapport
financier, les événements à venir, les statuts et règlements, les élections, l'art des membres et un goûter à partager.
Anita does her last stint as our secretary at the General Assembly April 7th 2010 before retiring from the job.

********************ART DURING MARCH BREAK*******ART ET LES VACANCES DE MARS
March Break
Monday March 15th to Friday March 19th, 1:30pm to 3:30pm, upper floor near food court.
Open to students 4 to 15 years of age.
7 activities for different ages will be offered each day.
These activities are planned and directed by artists from L'Association FOCUS ART Association with the
hope of entertaining youngsters with art during the March Break.
This is a second partnership with the Square.
Last Spring, Cornwall Square hosted a Focus Art Exhibition which proved to be a great success.
In May there will be another Exhibition by Focus Art at the Square.
Join us. Come and play with the youngsters......
Semaine de relâche
Lundi, le 15 mars à vendredi le 19 mars, il y aura des ateliers pour les jeunes de 4 ans à 15 ans au
Cornwall Square.Il y aura 7 différents ateliers. Ces ateliers sonts organisés et dirigés par les artistes de
Focus Art. C'est le deuxième partenariat entre Focus Art et le Square. Au printemps une exposition a eu
lieu. Ceci fut un gros
succès et sera répété en mai cette année.Bienvenue à tous.
Great news : we are now incorporated. Thanks to the help of the Legal Clinic , Lawyer Bernadette Clement,
we have jumped through all the necessary hoops to reach the long sought status which allows us to seek
help from different sources as an established not for profit association. We thank the Legal Clinic for their
generous support.
Bonne nouvelle: nous sommes maintenant incorporés grâces aux efforts de la Clinique juridique. L'avocate,
Bernadette Clément nous a assisté à rencontrer les défis pour atteindre le statut que nous avons recherché
depuis si longtemps. Nous pouvons approcher différents bailleurs de fonds en tant qu'association à but

President's Message
It is my privilege to send you all a wish for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We have had a busy past year and, thanks to the involvement and the hard work of the members and the
execs who volunteered their time, the future looks very bright for FOCUS ART.As this year comes to an end,
we have new members, are in the black with finances and we have more dates secured at the Cornwall Square,
which fulfills our mandate and again gives us fantastic exposure that we could not buy.Next year’s calendar of
events is full and the executive still have other plans to review so our development is on going. We will do our
best to continue to give the membership events and activities that everyone can, and hopefully will, get involved
in. Next year is our FIFTH anniversary and, as one of the founding members, it gives me a great feeling knowing
that what we started just as an idea is still going and growing.
Again, I would like to invite all the members to take part in the "5" theme show. This show will represent your
impression of five years of FOCUS ART, or the number five, or five of something, anything to do with "5".
Two (2) works, any medium approx 2’x 3’ - so let your imagination loose and have fun. See you next year.D’Arcy
Mot du Président à la fin de l'année 2009
Nous avons joui d'une année très occupée et grâce au travail acharné des membres et de l'exécutif qui offrent de leur temps bénévolement, l'avenir de FOCUS ART est très prospère.
À la fin de cette année, nous accueillons plusieurs nouveaux membres, nous sommes financièrement stable, et nous avons d'autres dates de prévues au Cornwall Square, une activité qui nous offre la visibilité extraordinaire.
Le calendrier des événements pour l'année prochaine est très chargé et l'exécutif s'occupe encore à l'enrichir. Nous continuons à rechercher votre participation et votre implication.
L'année prochaine est notre CINQUIÈME anniversaire. En tant qu'un des membres fondateurs, c'est très satisfaisant de voir ce qui a commencé comme une simple idée, continuer à progresser et grandir.
À cette fin, j'invite tous les membres à participer à l'exposition sur le thème ''5'' . Cet exposition reflétera votre interprétation de cinq années de FOCUS ART, du chiffre cinq, cinq objets, tout ce qui rapporte à cinq...Deux travaux sont admissibles, votre choix de médium, max. 2' X 3'; alors laissez aller votre imagination et amuzez-vous.

At the November 4th 2009 meeting, Micheline Tanguay, artist, member of Focus Art and devoted director on the executive invited members to explore the marvellous world of pastels. Passionate herself about the medium, Micheline encouraged others to play and get their fingers dirty as they blended the powdery colours into abstract form. For many it was a first experience.
